Vinyl and Bicast Upholstery

Vinyl and Bicast leather dining chairs and bar stools must be maintained properly in order to ensure the upholstery does not start to crack and peel away from the backing.

By following these guidelines you will ensure the longevity of your vinyl or Bicast leather:

  • Clean your Vinyl or Bicast leather dining chairs or bar stools weekly with a damp soft cloth to remove dirt, food spills, body oils and dust.
  • At Home Furniture recommends the weekly use of its ‘Easy Clean – Easy Care All Natural Chair Care’ which is a spray and wipe product that makes caring for your Vinyl and Bicast leather easy and can be purchased in store.
  • Please make sure only water, At Home Furniture’s All Natural Chair Care or another industry recommended product is used to clean your Vinyl or Bicast leather so as not to risk damage to the upholstery.
  • Make sure spills are cleaned straight away to avoid damage to the Vinyl or Bicast leather.
  • Be sure to keep your Vinyl and Bicast leather furniture out of direct heat and sunlight to avoid fading and damage to the upholstery.
  • Be careful of dye transfer. Avoid sitting on your Vinyl or Bicast leather with new unwashed jeans, damp clothes etc.
  • Be mindful of sharp objects, pet claws, studs or buttons on jeans etc. as these can easily scratch and mark the upholstery.

Dining Chair Care

At Home Furniture offers an extensive range of dining chairs so you can mix and match to suit your dining table.

As dining chairs are used daily and are in close contact with food where spills can happen  and within reach of grubby hands, proper care and maintenance is recommended in order to ensure the longevity of your dining chairs.

  • Dining chairs are intended for sitting on only. It is important that you do no stand, lean or  kneel on your dining chair, especially if it is an upholstered dining chair as it will cause undue pressure at the seems and may rip or tear the stitching.
  • Do not rock or swing on the dining chairs as it will cause undue pressure to the frame and can be dangerous to yourself.
  • If using dining chairs on timber floors, additional felt feet are recommended so as to not scratch your flooring.
  • Do not use regular house hold cleaners to clean your dining chair as it will damage the finish, whether it be timber, fabric, vinyl, bicast leather, chrome or stainless steel.
  • Remove spills immediately.
  • Clean the timber, chrome or stainless steel parts of your dining chair with a soft damp cloth.
